The morning after Halloween
I received a remarkable Postcard from my friend Gillian, who has been
traveling in Spain.
The card (illustrated on the right) is a picture of an astronaut
against the background of oak leaves carved on the facade of a new
Cathedral in Salamanca, Spain much as the Green Man, spirit of the
forest, used to be often carved on churches.
"Interesting huh?" wrote Gill on the back, "What do you
reckon?"
Well, that question made me think of caption competitions, which you
sometimes see in papers and magazines. So I thought it could be fun to
have an interactive caption page on The-Tree too.
This postcard might provide sufficient challenge to start us off. I hope
some of you will rise to it and share your brief commentaries on
this image by sending us an e-mail. |
