Tree Quotes

"What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another."          Mahatma Gandhi

8 pages

I have had a lovely and powerful time, when typing in all the hundreds of quotes about trees collected over the years. What a shame I did not look at them more often and what a surprise to rediscover just what a richness of views and insights they represent! So I hope  very much that you will gain inspiration from all this 'wisdom in a nutshell' too.
The quotes come from a wide variety of sources and backgrounds: from an Ethiopian proverb to Darwin, from Ben Elton to backwoods philosophers like Henri Thoreau. It even includes quotes from Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, John F. Kennedy and Michael Gorbachov.
We would like to keep adding to this collection, so if you know a good quote please send us an e-mail
Thanks! Your contributions will be acknowledged by a brief 'Sent in by ....' note, unless you prefer to stay anonymous.
The quotes are arranged alphabetically by the names of whoever uttered or wrote them and are divided up into eight pages (after this introductory one)  for easy loading.  The pages are connected with triangular back and forwards buttons (at the top and bottom of each page) to move to and fro.

Handy tip:
Try scrolling these pages with the up an down arrows on your keyboards, because that may be less strain on your arm than scrolling with the mouse.
