Dear Friends,
Here is our second Tree Talk e-zine, full of some great seasonal
goodies.
Isn't it ironic that we'll all be singing of love and peace, whilst
our country is preparing for war? What can we hope to achieve in
this fragile world with such destruction and hate? The one thing
that needs destroying for sure, is the the vicious circle of
domination, war and revenge. Much like Frodo and his friends in
"the Lord of the Ring" attempt to do in their
fictional quest.
My favourite seasonal quote to share with you is
"Let the beauty we love be
what we do" Rumi

The
Origins of Christmas
Often the truth is far more fantastic than fiction. So
forget all those legends about St. Boniface and Luther and the
Christmas tree for a moment. Smile indulgently when someone tells
you that Father Christmas was created by a Coco cola advertising
campaign in 1931! For here is a wondrous story, which confirms
what you already knew as a child: Father Christmas really does
exist! And he is a spirit of extreme antiquity!

Reflections on our Eco-Self
We
have all heard the news that it would take about 4 to 5 planets to
support the whole world population in the style we live in the West
today. We know we need to change, but why can’t we seem to do it? We
have chosen some brief extracts from the writings of John Seed. He asks
why the science of psychology does not address this crisis. He
comes up with some interesting answers.

Spiritual Christmas Recipes
Remember, you
select the ingredients for all your cooking. You can treat each, or
any, of these as a verbal remedy, or tonic every day.....
